Masjid Sunway.

And the amazing group of KMBians.

All 15 of us decided to agree to join a program held by our naqibahs at Masjid Sunway, as part of their monthly activities of conducting a daurah (it’s very much like usrah, but in a larger group, where there’ll be ceramah and discussion on Islam =)).

It started on Friday but because some of us have IELTS classes on Saturday, we decided to go together after the class, which is at 5 p.m. Imagine 15 of us, travelling from Banting to Putrajaya, then to KL Sentral, then to Sunway. Macam rombongan cik kiah. And we arrived at the Masjid all messy and tired at around 11p.m. Wahahaha.. But with eyes still wide open, the talk given by Kak Yeni (if I’m not mistaken) from Indonesia was very much informative, even though we only catch the last bits of it.

I daresay that I’m afraid to take up the challenge to be the one handling the weekly usrah in college, but people like Kak Yeni inspire me to be one. You get the chance to talk about Islam in a very open manner with your fellow friends at a given time every Friday, all approved by the college administration. That should make it easy as we don’t have to run around finding time to conduct a session.

At the daurah, I heard a story about a man named Khabbab bin Al-Arat. He is a very determined man I would say, looking at his courage to learn about Islam. Khabbab Al-Arat is a frequent guest of our Prophet Muhammad p.b.u.h, visiting Rasulullah to ask questions on the new religion back then. He even waited for Rasulullah from dawn up till midnight just to learn. Just to learn, and to know. Nowadays, even in my college, knowledge comes to you, when it should be the other way round. Every Friday a specific time is arranged for us to join usrah, and that’s the only time we can get to discuss on Islam, even though some of us regard it as not important and refuse to come. Haiyaa~

A snippet from Surah Al-Fusilaat.

And who is better in speech than he who says: “My Lord is Allah (believes in His Oneness),”and then stands firm (acts upon His Order) and invites (men) to Allah’s (Islamic monotheism), and does righteous deeds, and says: “I am one of the Muslims.”

(41:33)

And I am one of the Muslims.

Suddenly feel like blogging gile sunyi kolej ni only 12 peops left and I am in desperate need to finish up my assignments library tak bukak until Monday which means my work cannot be printed until Monday coz I don't have a printer and library yang baek hati telah menyediakan khidmat masyarakat itu Now I'm so hungry waiting for Mr Suzaili to send us our lunch yeah how kind of him to sacrifice his weekend for starving people like us and to kill time I'm sitting at the concourse alone accompanied by all the annoying sounds from the renovation and with the construction workers throwing weird stares at a piece of technology in front of me right now while onlining to find some suitable kata pujangga for my Malay World Literature assignment Omg baru sedar yang aku nak gile balik penang dont want to stay here until Sunday and then start classes I'm so not satisfied with my holidays and I want more and the juniors are coming next week which means there's another bunch of work to do and plus I have to plan for the recruitment of new members for our TASKA club Adoih gile bosan now have to pay for the undone assignment and lepas tu the Year 2 students will start our IELTS classes which I hope can help me improve my terrible-and-heartwrenching-dan stammering when speaking- lepas tu ayat tunggang terbalik orang tak faham punye English and then I have to prepare some fulus for the upcoming singapore trip and last but not least the only thing I'm looking forward to is my friends to get back here woi cepat la balik kmb aku sorang2 ni. Lapar la.

p/s: what a piece of crap.

Of Prostar and Theatre.

I came back to my college a week earlier than the others together with my club-mates and volunteers to handle the Prostar camp and at the same time participate in the activities.

It was fun doing the ‘poco-poco’ dance with the faci-s coz it reminds me of my orientation days in this college. The exhibition was also brilliant as it was an eye-opener for those who smoke and living on an unhealthy diet. We can check our fat percentage and also visit the booth where they place a leech on any part of your body to suck your dirty blood. It was gross to watch it happily feeding up on your arms and neck. Euww!

Plus we can donate blood if we wish. I was so excited to donate mine because last year I’m not allowed, knowing that I’m not officially 17. So, there I went, all excited and enthusiastic, and guess what happens. I need to find a guardian to sign up the permission form as I’m not 18 yet. (see, 18 is such a bad number!) So I get Puan Musliza to sign it up for me, hoping that this time around I’ll be able to be a noble citizen haha. And then, the pakcik who was responsible to check our blood type, weight and all the required details asked me to stand on the weighing scale. I was below 45kg! And plus I ate a tablet of Panadol because of my flu, and that was not allowed if you want to donate your blood within 24 hours. He immediately said ‘Tak boleh’. I strongly believe that the weighing scale was lying, coz as far as I know, I gained 3 kg from my 2 weeks holiday ok! What a bummer!!!!!!!!

Frankly speaking, the program was undeniably beneficial and informative as it gave us exposure on the danger of HIV and AIDS, but the thing is, I don’t think it worked out totally well coz the participants were from MARA institutions including MRSM-s, meaning we have different age groups to consider here. Some of them from GMI and Kolej Professional MARA were 20 and above and then the youngest were the 13-year-olds from MRSM-s. See, I’m not saying people from different timeline cannot mix with each other, but it’s just that the whole program needs to focus on certain age group. We can make a 20-year-old to think like a first-former but you can’t make a 13-year-old to think like a 20-year-old. When it comes to sex (Prostar is responsible in promoting sex education btw), they sort of have to limit the breadth of the topic and I can see that the preteens were kinda confused and trying to grasp the topic.

The program was over on Thursday, so there were only 12 KMB-ians left at the hostel. And our dining hall makciks refused to cook for a small number of students. Then the admin tried to contact one of the staff to get us food for breakfast, lunch and dinner (even though they know that a growing teenager needs to fuel up every 3 hours! Argghh~). I was already starving 30 minutes after the meal.

As there were only 12 of us left, Miss Loh was kind enough to offer us a trip to The Actors Studio in Bangsar to watch the opening night of Sybil, a theatre on a woman called Sybil Kathigasu who was tortured during the Japanese Occupation in Malaya. This was my first time watching a non-musical theatre as I’ve had the experience of watching the Peter Pan musical before. Those who came to the theatre were all from the entertainment world, seeing from the way they dress and mingle around. Even the popular host, Jit Murad and the famous actress Azean Irdawaty were there to watch the theatre. It was really a deeply moving account of courage and determination as we watched how Sybil was tortured by Sgt. Yoshimura who believes that she was a Resistance spy, and also how she defied her tormentors. Getting the chance to shake hands with the director Dato' Faridah Merican was cool enough though.

I'll update the photos later. Too many things, too little time.haih~

Albert Camus.

This man says, "To be happy,we must not be too concerned with others".
I guess Albert is right after all. Because when you think of others too much, your head will explode due to the overloaded problems. Same goes to homework, we must not be too concerned with homework, or else we'll end up unhappy.LOL. Not that I totally abandoned my assignments, I did finish up revising my EE novel, and a tiny part of my World Literature Assignment hehe. After all, my Malay teacher only asks for a draft as the final work will be collected perhaps around July.
I daresay that this semester break totally rocks, because I am finally able to free myself from all the burdens of college (even though I know I'll have to pay for that later haha)
We went to almost 3 weddings, then my family went for a short trip to Batu Feringghi. We slept overnight at Parkroyal Hotel, enjoying the 'chlorine-free' swimming pool, the cool beach and the Penang-ish night market. There were foreigners everywhere, especially in the hotel we stayed. This coming Thursday, will see us travel to KL, before my family send me off at my college. There will be a Prostar camp held for a week in college, attended by all MARA Institutions.

I promise myself, that I will finish up everything when I get back to college, which will be on this Saturday. (When I promise, that means I promise ok =p)
